Christopher Creek is at an elevation of 5900 feet, and is 22 miles east of Payson on Highway 260, just below the Mogollon Rim. It is a community where Santa visits every year and residents still do Christmas caroling, an area where there have been marriage proposals with treasure hunts in the creek. The fire department has about 20 members, volunteering their time to fight fires and answer emergency calls.

Christopher Creek and the surrounding area contains 22 subdivisions within the world's largest stand of Ponderosa Pines. Located just above Christopher Creek on the Rim are 7 lakes to choose from for the fishing enthusiast. Christopher Creek is in the middle of hunting, hiking, fishing, and camping. Hikers and mountain bike riders can enjoy 51 miles of recreation along the Highline Trail. Elk and Deer are to be seen at all hours of the day in the Rim Country. This is a great place to live or visit, less than 2 hrs from the valley. Weather ranges in the summer months from the high 90's to low 50's, winter months highs 50's to lows in the teens. Christopher Creek has lodging, dining, groceries, and craft shops in the summer months.
