Click for Payson, Arizona Forecast

Payson Arizona is the heart of the Rim Country, so named for the Mogollan Rim which is the edge of Arizona's Colorado Plateau. This impressive sight (approximately 20 miles north of Payson at the point shown below) stretches across a large portion of the state but can be seen at it's most beautiful north and east of Payson.

Nestled in ponderosa, pinyon, and juniper trees, Payson is the population and commerce center for Rim Country.

Shown is the man-made Green Valley Lake and Park. This lake has quickly become one of Payson's favorite spots for many residents, who fish, walk or jog (or roller blade), sail or canoe, or simply watch the reflections in the water.

The park is the site of concerts in summer months, occasional Art or Crafts shows, and is next to a museum which features historical exhibits.
Check out our links (from the area information page) for "things to do" and "places to stay".

At approximately 5000 feet elevation, Payson enjoys four mild seasons with beautiful Fall foliage and several (usually light) snows a winter.

This is a view of the town looking north toward the Rim. Its almost Spring here. The trees are green, the air is clear, and the clouds seem close enough to touch.

At the same time Payson is only about an hour away from the Phoenix metropolitan area.
